On July 4, 2024, at approximately 1:30 PM, Charlottesville Police Officers responded to a welfare check at 301 Monte Vista Avenue in Charlottesville, Virginia. Upon arrival, officers met with a family member of the residents who had reported concerns. Inside the home, they discovered 81-year-old Brenda Lois Lambert deceased from a fatal gunshot wound.
