A Transwoman disappears after meeting up with date
On November 20, 2012, 19-year-old Sage Smith, a transgender woman, disappeared under mysterious circumstances in Charlottesville, Virginia. Sage was last seen walking near the Amtrak station on West Main Street around 6:30 p.m. She had been planning to meet a man named Erik McFadden, whom she had met online and had been in contact with for several weeks. However, Sage never returned home, and she was reported missing two days later after failing to attend Thanksgiving dinner.
