On the late evening of Thursday, May 2, 2024, the life of 37-year-old Anthony Vondell Eberhardt of Henrico, Virginia, was tragically cut short in a burst of gunfire. The violent incident unfolded at approximately 11:27 p.m. in the 3800 block of Delmont Street, located in the Fairfield District of Henrico County.
Responding to reports of a shooting, Henrico Police officers arrived at the scene to find a chaotic situation with two adult males suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
Both men, including Eberhardt, were rushed to local hospitals with life-threatening injuries. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Anthony Vondell Eberhardt succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
The investigation into the shooting revealed a wider scope of violence than initially apparent. In addition to the two men found at the scene, two other adult males with gunshot wounds connected to the same incident were located at area hospitals. Their injuries were determined to be non-life-threatening.
