In the spring of 2024, the life of Cecil M. Johnson, a 41-year-old Black male, was tragically cut short in Richmond, Virginia. On the evening of May 20th, officers were dispatched to the 400 block of East Brookland Park Boulevard following a report of a person shot. Upon their arrival, they discovered Mr. Johnson inside a vehicle in the rear parking area of an apartment building. He had sustained an apparent gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.
