On June 24, 2024, at approximately 1:25 a.m., Norfolk Police responded to a reported shooting at the Cook Out restaurant located at 720 East Little Creek Road in Norfolk, Virginia. Upon arrival, officers discovered two male victims: 25-year-old Jason C. Allred of Artesia, New Mexico, who had sustained a life-threatening gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene, and another man who suffered a non-life-threatening graze wound and received medical treatment on-site.
