In the early morning hours of August 10, 2024, the life of 20-year-old Amariyon Nasir Wilson was tragically cut short on a street in Hampton, Virginia. Just before 1:30 a.m., the sound of multiple gunshots pierced the night in the 8500 block of Orcutt Avenue. When Hampton Police Division officers arrived at the scene, they discovered Wilson lying in the roadway, having succumbed to his injuries.
Amariyon, who was just weeks away from his 21st birthday, was remembered by his family as a
good person with a passion for music and aspirations of becoming a rapper. His sudden and violent death left his family heartbroken and searching for answers. In the days that followed, they spoke of their profound loss and made public pleas for anyone with information to come forward, desperate for justice and closure.
The investigation into Amariyon's death progressed, and in late September, the Hampton Police Division announced a significant development in the case. A 17-year-old male was arrested and charged in connection with the killing. The juvenile suspect faces multiple serious charges, including homicide, robbery, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a juvenile.
