On the evening of June 1, 2024, the life of 26-year-old Martez Johnson Corey was tragically cut short in a shooting that unfolded in Hampton, Virginia. The Hampton Police Division received a call around 7:32 p.m. reporting the incident in the 500 block of Old Buckroe Road, an area not far from Robert R. Moton Elementary School.
