On August 11, 2024, at approximately 4:38 a.m., Newport News Police responded to a call reporting a dispute and gunfire at a residence in the 900 block of Forest Lake Court. Upon arrival, officers discovered 41-year-old Wayne McMillan of Newport News suffering from a gunshot wound. McMillan was promptly transported to a nearby hospital, where he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.
