In the early morning hours of October 28, 2024, a domestic dispute in a Woodbridge, Virginia, home escalated to a tragic and fatal conclusion. Brian Christopher Rose, a 56-year-old White male, was shot and killed inside his residence on Paxton Street. The incident, which also resulted in the death of the family's one-year-old Labrador Retriever, shattered the quiet of the neighborhood and left a family irrevocably broken.
Authorities were alerted to the shooting at approximately 2:39 a.m. by a family friend who had received information about the incident. When Prince William County Police officers arrived at the home, they found Brian Christopher Rose deceased at the scene. The investigation quickly focused on his son, 29-year-old Christopher Tyler Rose, who was also present at the residence.
Investigators determined that an altercation between the father and son, who lived together, had preceded the deadly shooting. Christopher Tyler Rose was taken into custody without incident at the scene. He has since been charged with murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and felony animal cruelty. He is currently being held without bond as the investigation continues.
Brian Christopher Rose was remembered as a dedicated and hardworking man who had been employed for many years with ADT Security before becoming a bus driver for OmniRide. He was a proud member of the Teamsters Local 639 and was known for his love of music, being an accomplished guitarist, singer, and songwriter. Described as a loving father and grandfather, his death has left his family and community in mourning.
