On the night of September 15, 2024, in Sumter, South Carolina, 40-year-old Jeremie Devon Richardson was fatally shot following a heated argument. The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. on Rhododendron Street, where officers discovered Richardson inside a vehicle with a gunshot wound. He was transported to Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
