In the late hours of a Thursday evening in Vicksburg, Mississippi, a dispute over a game of chance tragically escalated, ending the life of 26-year-old Kelvion Winston. On June 8, 2023, just after 11:30 p.m., police responded to a call of a shooting in the 1600 block of Crawford Street. Upon arrival, they found Winston, a Black male from Fayette, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was quickly transported to Merit Health River Region, but his injuries proved to be fatal.
