In the late hours of a Tuesday evening in Vicksburg, Mississippi, the life of 22-year-old Preston Wilson Jr. was tragically cut short. On July 18, 2023, the young Black man was walking near the intersection of Harrison and Cherry Streets when a black SUV approached. An occupant of the vehicle called out his name, issuing a chilling warning to 'watch himself' before driving away. Moments later, the same vehicle reappeared, and this time, gunfire erupted.
