On September 15, 2023, at approximately 11:30 p.m., 20-year-old La'Henrya Carlisha Perry was fatally shot while sitting inside her vehicle in the 1700 block of Ellis Avenue in Jackson, Mississippi. An unidentified male suspect fired shots from the door of a nearby store, striking Perry and two other individuals. The two additional victims were transported to a local hospital; their conditions were not disclosed.
