On July 21, 2024, a tragic mass shooting occurred in Indianola, Mississippi, resulting in the death of 19-year-old Marquette Baites, along with two other teenagers. The incident took place just after midnight on Sunday morning near a local nightclub called Club Lit on Church Street, where a large crowd had gathered.
