On June 2, 2024, 15-year-old Amillier "Milli" Penn was tragically shot and killed in Grand Rapids, Michigan. At approximately 8:10 p.m., while playing football with friends on Umatilla Street near Madison Avenue SE, an unknown assailant approached and opened fire, fatally wounding the teenager. Despite immediate attention, Penn was pronounced dead at the scene.
