On July 8, 2023, the body of 22-year-old Harley Rose-Diane Corwin was discovered in a wooded area of Ford River Township near Bark River, Michigan. Corwin, who was pregnant at the time, had been reported missing prior to the discovery. An investigation led to the arrest of 32-year-old Tavaris Lee Jackson Jr. of Escanaba, who was subsequently charged with open murder in connection with Corwin's death.
