Aura Rosser, a 40-year-old African American woman, tragically lost her life on November 10, 2014, in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The incident occurred when Ann Arbor police officers were called to her home following a domestic dispute between Rosser and her boyfriend. According to police reports, upon their arrival, Rosser approached the officers with a knife. In response, one officer deployed a taser, while another officer, David Ried, fired his gun, resulting in Rosser's death.
