In District Heights, Maryland, a dispute between two men who knew each other ended in a fatal shooting. On Saturday, May 13, 2023, at approximately 11:50 a.m., police responded to a report of a shooting in the 6100 block of Blacksmith Drive. Upon arrival, they discovered 28-year-old Dante Williams outside a residence, suffering from a gunshot wound.
He was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries a short time later.
The investigation into the shooting led police to identify 31-year-old JC Littlejohn III, also of District Heights, as the suspect. According to the preliminary investigation, it is believed that Littlejohn shot Williams during an argument. The nature of their dispute has not been publicly detailed, only that the two men were acquainted. Littlejohn was subsequently arrested and taken into custody.
Following his arrest, JC Littlejohn III was charged with first and second-degree murder, as well as other related charges in connection with the death of Dante Williams. He is currently being held at the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status, awaiting further legal proceedings. The case continues to be investigated by the Prince George's Homicide Unit, who have encouraged anyone with additional information to come forward.
