In the summer of 2011, a violent act cut short the life of a young man in District Heights, Maryland. Dwight Donnell Hicks, a 26-year-old male, was fatally shot on the evening of Sunday, July 10, 2011. The incident occurred in the 6600 block of Atwood Street, a residential area that became the scene of a homicide investigation.
