In a tragic turn of events on August 31, 2023, 25-year-old Michael Burch Jr., a male resident of Fort Washington, Maryland, was killed. The quiet neighborhood on Tall Timber Court was shattered by gunfire in the late afternoon, prompting a significant police response that would unfold over several hours.
Authorities were called to the Burch family home at approximately 5:45 p.m. for a report of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered a horrifying scene.
In the front yard of the residence lay the body of Michael's mother, 52-year-old Rori Burch. Inside the home, the situation escalated as Michael's father, 62-year-old Michael Kevin Burch, had barricaded himself within the house.
