On May 15, 2024, at approximately 6:40 a.m., officers from the Maryland-National Capital Park Police and the Prince George's County Police Department responded to a report of an unconscious man in a park located in the 11900 block of Autumnwood Lane in Fort Washington, Maryland. Upon arrival, they discovered 19-year-old David Frye of Washington, D.C., suffering from a gunshot wound; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
