On June 22, 2023, at approximately 5:15 p.m., Prince George's County Police officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 1200 block of Palmer Road in Fort Washington, Maryland. Upon arrival, they discovered 20-year-old Avire Patrick Crowder of Clinton, Maryland, inside a vehicle, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Crowder was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
