On April 14, 2024, at approximately 6:45 p.m., first responders were dispatched to Seat Pleasant Neighborhood Park, located in the 800 block of Birchleaf Avenue in Seat Pleasant, Maryland, following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered 18-year-old Michael Delonta Cooper suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Cooper was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
