Carlos Benitez-Arevalo, a 19-year-old from Manassas, Virginia, was tragically shot and killed in Capitol Heights, Maryland, on August 21, 2022. The incident occurred around 2:40 a.m. when Prince George's County Police officers responded to a reported shooting at the 1300 block of Ritchie Road. Upon arrival, they found Benitez-Arevalo outside a gas station suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
