On the evening of October 1, 2009, Prince George's County police responded to reports of a shooting in Capitol Heights, Maryland. At approximately 9:33 p.m., officers arrived at the 6800 block of Walker Mill Road and discovered John Lee Scott, a 26-year-old resident of Washington, D.C., suffering from a gunshot wound.
