In the early morning hours of March 20, 2022, the life of 28-year-old Donte J. Morton of District Heights, Maryland, was cut short in a fatal shooting. The incident unfolded around 3:00 a.m. in a parking lot on the 8500 block of Ashwood Drive in Capitol Heights. When Prince George's County Police officers arrived at the scene, they discovered Morton suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
