On a tragic Wednesday evening in Capitol Heights, Maryland, the life of 34-year-old Lomax McIntyre, a Black/African American male, was cut short by gunfire. The fatal events of December 14, 2022, began to unfold at approximately 9:10 p.m. in a parking lot located in the 6700 block of Walker Mill Road. It was there that McIntyre was shot. Despite his injuries, he made a desperate attempt to save his own life by driving away from the scene in search of help.
His journey for aid ended a
short distance away in the 5900 block of Marlboro Pike. Responding to a report of a shooting victim, officers from the Prince George's County Police Department discovered McIntyre at this second location. Tragically, he was pronounced dead at the scene. When police had initially responded to the report of a shooting on Walker Mill Road, they found evidence of the event but no victim.
In the wake of the homicide, the Prince George's County Police Department's Homicide Unit launched an investigation to uncover the circumstances and motive behind the fatal shooting. As of now, authorities have not publicly identified any suspects or made any arrests in connection with the case. The investigation remains ongoing as detectives continue to work towards bringing those responsible for Lomax McIntyre's death to justice. To encourage anyone with information to come forward, a reward of up to $25,000 has been offered for tips that lead to an arrest and indictment in the case.
