In the early morning hours of March 21, 2022, the life of 34-year-old Jerome Huspon was tragically cut short in Jackson, Tennessee. A Black male, Mr. Huspon was found with gunshot wounds by officers from the Jackson Police Department at a residence on Crescent Avenue around 12:50 a.m. He was quickly transported to a local hospital for treatment but ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation into the shooting revealed a heartbreaking family dimension to the tragedy.
Shortly after arriving at the scene, law enforcement officers took a juvenile male relative of Huspon's into custody. Authorities have stated that they are not seeking any other suspects in connection with the fatal shooting, indicating they believe the young relative was solely responsible. Jerome Huspon was remembered by his community as a hardworking individual. A graduate of Humboldt High School, he worked as a forklift driver and had a passion for music, including singing and playing instruments. He was an active member of his church. His unexpected death left a profound void in the lives of his family and friends. He is survived by his mother, a son, a daughter, and numerous siblings.
