On the evening of September 19, 2024, at approximately 8:00 p.m., Jackson Police Department officers responded to a reported shooting near the intersection of Grove Avenue and Susan Cove in Jackson, Tennessee. Upon arrival, they discovered 41-year-old Ryan Mills in the yard of a residence, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency Medical Services transported Mills to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
