In the driveway of a residence on Locust Point Road, Cimorose was discovered by Maryland State Police suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency medical personnel arrived at the scene but were unable to save him, and he was pronounced deceased in the driveway.

Three days after the fatal shooting, on June 20, 2024, an arrest was made. Sixty-two-year-old Donald Snyder was taken into custody in connection with Cimorose's death.
