On a Sunday evening in Oklahoma City, what began as a visit between acquaintances ended in tragedy. Gary Andrew Westrick, a 33-year-old White / Caucasian male, was at a residence located at 6305 S. Lindsey Avenue on July 21, 2024. He was there to visit Tony Lee Servantes and a woman who also lived at the home. The night took a fatal turn when, for reasons not publicly disclosed, an argument broke out.
At approximately 10:06 p.m., the sound of gunfire shattered the quiet of the Southside
neighborhood. Officers from the Oklahoma City Police Department were dispatched to the residence following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered Gary Andrew Westrick inside the home, suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite any potential life-saving efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene. This incident marked the 49th homicide in Oklahoma City for the year 2024.
The immediate investigation led police to identify the resident, 39-year-old Tony Lee Servantes, as the sole suspect. Investigators believe that during the course of the visit, Servantes became upset, retrieved a firearm, and shot Westrick. Servantes was taken into custody at the scene and was later booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center. He is facing a complaint of First Degree Murder in connection with the death of Gary Andrew Westrick. While an arrest has been made, the specific motive behind the deadly encounter remains under investigation.
