In the summer of 2013, the life of Lyle Dean 'Shorty' Easky, a 33-year-old man of Native American heritage, came to a tragic and violent end. On the morning of Monday, August 12, 2013, a friend discovered Easky's body inside the southeast Oklahoma City residence where he had been living. The home, located on S.E. 47th Street, was described by neighbors as a place of frequent trouble, shadowing the lives of Easky and his girlfriend who had resided there for about six months.
