In the early morning hours of January 4, 2025, a day that should have been filled with the lingering joy of his 41st birthday celebration just the day before, Shawn Lawrence, a Black male, was found dead from gunshot wounds in Oklahoma City. The city's first homicide of the year unfolded in the 9300 block of SW 45th Ct. where police responded to a shooting call at 9:09 AM.
