In the late hours of February 17th or the early morning of February 18th, 2023, Vincent Spoto, a 65-year-old White male, was killed in Las Vegas, Nevada. He and his longtime partner, 46-year-old Shella "Bella" Huey, were discovered deceased on February 20th in their makeshift shelter situated behind an AutoZone on South Nellis Boulevard. Both had sustained fatal gunshot wounds; Spoto was shot in the head, while Huey suffered wounds to her head and neck.
It is believed by authorities that the couple was likely asleep when they were attacked.
For more than two decades, Spoto and Huey had been companions, living among the unhoused community in the area. Their deaths prompted an outpouring of grief from family members, who have been left searching for answers. In the months following the discovery, law enforcement officials and Huey's sister made public appeals for any information that might lead to a break in the case. Investigators expressed concern that without tips from the community, the investigation could go cold.
