In the early morning hours of September 8, 2021, the life of Cordell Thrasher, a 27-year-old Black/African American male, was cut short in a Las Vegas motel room. The incident unfolded at the Howard Johnson Inn on East Tropicana Avenue, near the bustling Las Vegas Strip. Police were dispatched to the location at approximately 3:05 a.m. following reports of gunshots and a woman's screams for help emanating from the back parking lot.
