In the chaos of the deadliest mass shooting in modern American history, Christopher James Chris Hazencomb, a 44-year-old Caucasian male, became a hero. On the night of October 1, 2017, the Route 91 Harvest country music festival in Las Vegas was shattered by a hail of bullets. Hazencomb, a resident of Camarillo, California, was enjoying the concert with his friend Nikki Torres when the gunman, Stephen Paddock, opened fire from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel.
