On August 15, 2024, at approximately 6:45 p.m., the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department responded to reports of a shooting at a vacant apartment on the 3000 block of South Nellis Boulevard, near Vegas Valley Drive. Upon arrival, officers discovered 38-year-old Felipe Dantas with a gunshot wound to the head; he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Following an investigation, authorities arrested 34-year-old Melvin Alexander on August 27, 2024, in connection with Dantas's death. Alexander ...
