On May 28, 2006, Gemar Robertino Samuel, a 24-year-old resident of Las Vegas, was tragically killed in a mass shooting that occurred at a Memorial Day block party and car show in the Berkley Square neighborhood. The event, held in the 500 block of Frederick Avenue, was suddenly disrupted when several individuals opened fire on the crowd.
