On February 15, 2023, 29-year-old Davante Lavar-King Reid of Minneapolis, Minnesota, was fatally shot in the Uptown neighborhood. The incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. on the 2800 block of Colfax Avenue South, where police found two individuals with gunshot wounds inside a vehicle: 23-year-old Khalil Amer Bryant of Robbinsdale, who died at the scene, and a woman in her 30s who was critically injured.
