In the early morning hours of November 26, 2017, a night of socializing turned tragic for Reginald Peller, a 31-year-old male from Rochester, New York. After spending time at the bars, Peller attended an afterparty on Arlo Street. A few hours later, he left the party with a friend who was giving him a ride.
As they were walking to his friend's car on nearby Terry Street, their movements were captured by a home surveillance camera. The footage shows them walking towards a blue Mitsubishi.
Shortly after, individuals with guns drawn surrounded the vehicle. At least four shots were fired, striking Peller multiple times as he sat in the back seat.
Emergency services were called to the scene, and Peller was transported to Strong Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His friend, who was also in the car, survived the attack. The entire horrific incident was captured on surveillance video.
Rochester Police investigators began working the case, appealing to the public for information. They identified two suspect vehicles from the surveillance footage but, at the time of the reports, did not have enough evidence to make any arrests. The investigation into the murder of Reginald 'Rozay' Peller remains ongoing, and authorities have urged anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
