Her body was discovered in a courtyard in south Minneapolis with a fatal gunshot wound to the head. She was described as a beloved and vibrant member of the local transgender community, known for her generosity and fierce spirit.
The investigation into her death quickly led police to 25-year-old Damarean Kaylon Bible. Surveillance footage from near the scene was instrumental in identifying him, and he was arrested shortly after the incident. During the investigation, Bible admitted to shooting Williams after a sexual encounter that had been initiated at a nearby bus shelter. Damarean Kaylon Bible was charged with second-degree murder for the killing of Savannah Ryan Williams.
