In the early morning hours of April 6, 2018, the sound of gunshots pierced the quiet of a neighborhood on Tucson's southwest side. When police arrived at the area of West 20th Street and South Farmington Road at approximately 1:14 a.m., they discovered 36-year-old Roberto Varela inside his maroon 2007 Hyundai coupe, suffering from obvious signs of gunshot trauma.
