In the pre-dawn hours of October 30, 2021, a dispute inside a vehicle in Tucson, Arizona, turned fatal, ending the life of 24-year-old Ma'Tayis Michael Mitchell. Tucson police were dispatched to the 700 block of West Grant Road shortly before 1 a.m., where they discovered the young man suffering from a gunshot wound. Investigators believe that an argument erupted between Mitchell and
other individuals inside the car, escalating to the point of gunfire. In the chaotic moments that followed the shooting, two of the vehicle's occupants fled the area, vanishing before authorities could arrive. The investigation into the death of Ma'Tayis Mitchell was launched, but the individuals who fled were not immediately identified.
