On November 3, 1973, a tragic and violent series of events unfolded in Tucson, Arizona, culminating in the death of 28-year-old Marine Captain Michael Sandberg. The day began with two men, Douglas Gretzler and Willie Steelman, kidnapping a man named Vincent Armstrong. Armstrong managed to escape from his moving vehicle and alert the authorities. His captors then proceeded to a condominium complex where they encountered Michael Sandberg washing his car in the parking lot.
