On a late Saturday morning in north Minneapolis, the life of Malacai Lamonte Bailey, a 25-year-old Black/African American male, was tragically cut short. On June 1, 2024, Bailey was inside a vehicle near the intersection of North 33rd and Knox avenues when he was struck by multiple gunshots. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office would later confirm the cause of his death as homicide resulting from these wounds.
