On a Thursday afternoon, February 29, 2024, a burst of gunfire shattered the quiet of a North Minneapolis neighborhood. Dwight William Alexander, a 22-year-old Black/African American male from New Brighton, was sitting in a parked car in the 3900 block of Sheridan Avenue North when he was fatally wounded. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner later confirmed he died from multiple gunshot wounds in what was ruled a homicide.
