On February 29, 2024, 22-year-old Dwight William Alexander of New Brighton, Minnesota, was fatally shot while seated in a parked vehicle on the 3900 block of Sheridan Avenue North in Minneapolis. Responding officers found Alexander on the ground near the vehicle; despite immediate CPR efforts by bystanders and first responders, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
