On January 16, 2024, at approximately 5:12 a.m., Wichita police officers responded to a report of gunshots in the 1000 block of South Market Street. After an initial search yielded no findings, a subsequent call at 5:22 a.m. led officers to the 900 block of South Market, where they discovered 35-year-old LaDonte Ostrander with a gunshot wound to his lower extremities.
