On January 23, 2024, 20-year-old Joshua Batemon of Wichita, Kansas, tragically lost his life in a shooting incident. The event occurred around 2 a.m. in the 1500 block of North Poplar Street, where officers found Joshua with a fatal gunshot wound to his upper body. An 18-year-old man was also critically injured during the incident and was transported to a hospital for treatment.
