In the early morning hours of January 17, 2023, the life of a 30-year-old white male named Janis Gailis was tragically cut short on a street in New Orleans, Louisiana. A visitor to the city from another country, Gailis had been in New Orleans for several months. His body was discovered by New Orleans Police Department officers in the 4400 block of Reynes Street after they responded to a medical call shortly after midnight.
