Schuncey Bernard Bates, a 45-year-old resident of Shreveport, Louisiana, was fatally shot on February 11, 2023. The incident occurred in the 4700 block of Greenwood Road in West Shreveport, where Bates was shot just after 9 p.m..

Following the shooting, Bates was transported to Ochsner LSU Health hospital, where he was pronounced deceased at 9:38 p.m..
